SHE TAKES CARE OF THE FAMILY, BUT NEVER HERSELF…
Surveys show that almost two-thirds of the women who are dependent or addicted to drugs need to be brought to help by a family member. Most will not seek it for themselves, but only get help when someone else insists that they do so.
It seems that many women feel that their job is to take care of others, not to be taken care of; their show of strength is to bear up under the pains and losses a lifetime can hand you, shoulder the nurturing of others, and soldier on long past what others might ever ask of them.
If there is a woman in your life that is currently taking drugs or drinking alcohol, you need to take a good look at what dependency and addiction can do to someone’s life and decide if this is a problem that needs to be addressed before you lose that person.
